*Noted Change 03/05/19: La Casa De Pedro has filed for Bankruptcy. read the article for more information
Working at an event for the Boston auto show, I needed to eat something quick and close by, tacos saved me again. A walk from the convention center I found La Casa De Pedro. The restaurant has two sides a small pick up counter and a full restaurant with a bar. This is what I would describe as a more upscale restaurant (read my opinion on upscale vs casual Mexican coming soon)
Great, how’s the Tacos?
The tacos are ok, I’m sure there’s better options around Boston, unfortunately the taco I tried fell short. I ordered the steak taco, the steak itself is good. The taco together unfortunately falls short. The steak taco here is a Venezuelan/Mexican fusion item, it’s topped with: avocado, pickled cabbage, arugula, mango and a passion fruit sauce. The whole flavor is best described as sweet, and it’s more of a flank steak wrap in a flour tortilla, the steak saves it. I’d say the fusion taco didn’t go too well here, if you’re looking for traditional Mexican try else where. I would pass on this place it’s overpriced for the quality of food.
