On Sunday October 14th I had the opportunity to take part in two of my favorite things running and tacos, all of which were for a great cause.
The Surf Taco Taco Trot 5k in Wall, NJ was a great opportunity to run for those affected by breast cancer, a portion of the proceeds support (YSC) Young Survival Coalition an organization dedicated to young women diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers connections, outreach, helping them to feel empowered, and hopeful. There are also two other Taco Trots coming up.
Salsa Fresco Taco Trot 5K – October 28th – Yorktown Heights, NY
2019 Riviera Maya Taco Trot 5K – April 6th – Succasunna, NJ
The taco trot is 3.1 miles and is a mapped course through a local park. The event featured sponsor, Surf Taco, a growing Californian surf style taco restaurant with locations throughout New Jersey and two new spots in Florida.

Besides the awesome medal and T-shirt, finishers were greeted with Tacos from Surf Taco with two choices veggie and chicken, either corn or flour tortillas. As this was a quick catered event I think it’s only fair I review their restaurant separately.

I encourage everyone to get out and run as It has changed my life and well being drastically in the past few years, also there’s food, tacos and sometimes corgis at these events. If you’re interested in a similar shirt from the race, click on the t-shirt below, and theres also a great book for cleansing with tacos!
Check out their website and their Facebook page for more info on the Taco Trot 5K and their mission.
