The simple phrase and rule at Surf Taco “Do the combo” that’s at least the line my family uses after a day at the beach down the New Jersey shore in the summer. We are of course referring to the Surf Taco Combo #1. Please don’t confuse this with Lou Bega’s 1999 hit Mambo #5. (common mistake) The Combo number 1 consists of two hard or soft shell ground beef tacos with chips and a fountain drink. The menu here is split about 50/50, half sea food and the other chicken or steak.

With several locations all over New Jersey (14 in total) and one in Florida it’s becoming a favorite for a quick bite. This Mexican fusion restaurant boast a surf style decor (obviously) with fresh ingredients. To be fair to those reading, Surf Taco isn’t a Mexican restaurant in my opinion, it’s it’s own thing and we like like that. After a day at the beach or mountain biking, surf taco delivers and hits the spot. Just remember when you visit to try all the sauces they each offer a different complexity to your taco. You cant go wrong with the baja salsa, it’s the right amount of heat and flavor.
