“Down the shore” in New Jersey there are a few locations for FINS Tropicali Cuisine. It’s a nice place to stop in during a New Jersey beach day in the summer. This spot is a fusion Mexican spot it mixes “California chill vibes” and fresh food. I recommend avoiding their “typical tacos” they are not going to come close to authentic, besides their custom creations are better and you should be looking for a unique taste here. Here’s my order:

East West Fish Taco & Cabo Taco at FINS Tropicali Cuisine

The Cabo Taco – the Cabo Taco at FINS is served on a flour tortilla, and comes with white battered fish, shredded cheddar cheese and their red pepper sauce, it has a small kick but nothing too bad. (You can handle it)

East West Fish Taco – The East West Fish Taco at FINS is somewhat bland, the flavors really don’t blend well. You’ll get Grilled Cod, a Hawaiian BBQ Sauce, it also comes topped with a wasabi cucumber slaw, and its topped with tortilla strips.

Yes these tacos are ok, I say that an authentic taco needs to have a corn tortilla, this is a fusion restaurant so it’s ok, they are not claiming to be Mexican. Tacos are tacos but not all tacos are good, and some are not even worth mentioning, this sort of fits in the middle.

Overall I wouldn’t rate Fins too high on the list, although they have always had great customer service and staff. The food just isn’t anything special, it’s not bad, it’s not good. The flavors don’t blend well, some dishes use some cheeses that tend to overpower flavors. At the same time the spices are very under developed, even the “hot” sauce on the steak tacos, is far below mild.
