El Aguila Dorada is probably the better known Mexican restaurant in Bayonne New Jersey, it features a full bar and lots of great Mexican food classics from sopes, quesadillas, tostadas; you see where I’m going with it all. I have dined here several times and my go to order is the fajitas and man are they good! Order the fajitas mixed I like to get the steak and chicken, its filing, and you’ll have left-overs.

El Aguila Dorada – Bayonne, NJ – Carnitas Tacos
Their tacos are pretty good too, here’s what you’ll get:
Off the bat we’ll point out that the tortillas are not homemade, I ordered the carnitas, the tortillas were oily which helped the flavor. Each taco is double wrapped in two corn tortillas. The tacos come in an order of three with plenty of meat, topped with diced yellow onion, cilantro, served with half a cactus petal, a few slices of radishes and limes. The meat in the carnitas will start off a little dry use the lime on each one before digging in and use the sauce provided, it has a good kick but it’s not “forehead sweat” inducing. I found the tacos at El Aguila Dorada to be really good and more in line with traditional Mexican preparation.
